More Resources and Support for Teachers and Schools
Kira has helped get pay raises for teachers and more funding for schools. She has expanded access to quality child care and pre-K classes and increased funding for Elementary and Secondary Education. Yet, there is more work to be done to make sure every child in Louisiana has access to the best education possible.
Improving Academics
Kira has emphasized academic improvement for all children. Major improvements include an increase in students graduating, earning college credits through AP courses, and ACT scores, as well as decreases in student drop out rates, suspensions, and expulsions.
College and Career Readiness
All students should be prepared for the workplace when they graduate high school. Kira has worked to move our educational system forward, making changes and investments that prepare children for the jobs of the future.
